GP Care Out of Hours
Patients registered with a GP in Wolverhampton and who need urgent GP advice or treatment between 6.30pm and 8am Monday to Friday or at anytime over a weekend or a Bank Holiday should call the service on 0300 555 0277.
The out-of-hours service includes advice and reassurance over the phone or, if the doctor decides it necessary, arrangements will be made to see the patient.
The service is provided by Primecare.
Walk-in Centres
- Phoenix Centre
Phoenix Centre, Parkfield Road, Parkfields WV4 6ED
Opening hours: 10am to 7pm Monday to Friday and 10am to 4pm on Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays.
The Walk-in Centre, based at Parkfield Road, Wolverhampton, offers on-the-spot treatment (without an appointment) and advice for minor health problems, illness, ailments and injuries.
You are able to ’walk-in’ during the opening hours of 10am to 7pm Monday to Friday and 10am to 4pm on Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays.
- Showell Park Centre
Opening hours: 8am - 8pm seven days a week including bank holidays.

Provides general GP facilities as well as being a walk-in centre (no appointment necessary) for minor illnesses and injuries that do not need hospital treatment. People attending the Walk-in Centre do not need to be registered with the practice to use this facility.
NHS Direct
People can also call NHS Direct on 0845 4647 for advice on a wide-range of health problems. NHS Direct is a 24-hour telephone helpline and operates round-the-clock every day of the year.

Provision is made for patients to access pharmaceutical services during bank holiday periods and full details of those pharmacies that will be open will be available on this website, on the NHS UK website and also in local publications.
Some local pharmacies are open late in the evenings and at weekends. The pharmacist can advise on home treatment for many minor ailments.

A dentist will be on call to provide advice, telephone triage and direct people to appropriate in hours provision.
If the dentist on call does need to see a patient on a face to face basis the dentist will use the Wednesfield surgery at 74 Lichfield Road, Wednesfield.
Sundays/ Bank Holidays 9.00am – 12.00 noon – Tel: 08454647 NHS Direct / 07970857882 – (Phone lines will be open from 9.00am – 11.30am).
A similar service to Saturdays will be provided, though an independent dentist will provide the service. The service will be provided from Wednesfield Dental Surgery, 74 Lichfield Road, Wednesfield, WV11 1TP.
Primary Dental Care Urgent Treatment
From Monday 5 November 2012 patients will no longer be able to use Phoenix or Bilston Health Centre for urgent dental treatment.
To make sure patients get the right treatment at the right time residents are advised to:
• First try calling their usual dentist for an appointment. If they explain that it’s urgent they may be able to fit you in quickly.
• If they can’t offer them an appointment and they are not able to make an appointment with any other local dentist they can call one of our Dental Access Practices:
